Private health check in North London
Our comprehensive health check is a 60-minute appointment with a GP that combines a full set of blood tests, an ECG, blood pressure and body-composition measurements, and time to talk through your history, lifestyle and concerns. You leave with a written report that explains every result and what, if anything, to do about it.
What the check includes
The check is built around the conditions that are common, often silent, and worth catching early: high blood pressure, raised cholesterol, type 2 diabetes, thyroid problems, liver and kidney disease, and anaemia.
- Blood tests: full blood count, kidney and liver function, cholesterol and lipids, HbA1c, thyroid, vitamin D, B12 and ferritin
- Resting ECG to look at heart rhythm and electrical activity
- Blood pressure, height, weight, waist measurement and body composition
- Urine analysis
- A cardiovascular risk score using the NHS QRISK model
- A 60-minute consultation with a GP covering history, family history, lifestyle, sleep, mood and anything on your mind
- A written report, usually within a week, with every result explained
Who a health check is for
Anyone who wants a clear picture of their health. It is popular with people in their forties and fifties who have not had a check-up in years, people with a family history of heart disease or diabetes, and anyone whose employer or insurer asks for a medical.
A health check is not a replacement for seeing a GP about a symptom. If something is worrying you now, book a GP appointment instead; we can add any of these tests to it.
What happens afterwards
Most people receive a reassuring report with a few practical suggestions. When a result needs action, the doctor calls you to explain it and agrees a plan: a repeat test, a change to look at, a referral to a specialist, or a letter to your NHS GP with your consent. Nothing is left as a number on a page.
Preparing for your check
Come fasted for at least eight hours (water is fine), wear something comfortable for the ECG, bring a list of medicines you take, and allow a little over an hour. If you would like a specific test added, tell us when you book.
Questions patients ask
Yes, for at least eight hours before the appointment. You can drink water. Take regular medicines as normal unless the doctor has told you otherwise.
Allow a little over an hour: about 15 minutes for the measurements and tests, and up to 60 minutes with the doctor.
Usually within a week, once all laboratory results are back. Urgent findings are phoned through straight away.
Yes. Common additions include PSA, hormone profiles, sexual health screens and allergy tests. Tell us when you book so the samples can be taken in one visit.
The report is written by a GMC-registered GP and is usually accepted. If your employer or insurer has a specific form, send it to us in advance.
If you need a specific set of tests rather than the full assessment, book a blood-test appointment or a GP appointment and ask for the tests you want.
